(Aurora, Ind.) - A Sunman man is behind bars following a domestic disturbance that led to a police pursuit.

Aurora Police were dispatched to a downtown Aurora bar on August 3 where a woman was reportedly punched in the face.

Upon arriving at the scene, police observed a woman holding the right side of her head, and broken glass from an entry door to the bar. The victim told police that she had been punched in the face by Eddie Snow, 41, who was also allegedly responsible for the broken glass.

A short time later a male resembling the description of Snow was seen walking near Judiciary and Fourth streets. When confronted by police, the man identified himself as 'Chip Jones' but did not provide an ID.

Police briefly lost sight of the man before locating him in a gray Hyundai passenger vehicle that was registered to Eddie Snow. According to a probable cause affidavit, Snow was then seen accelerating at a high rate of speed on Fifth Street. The vehicle eventually continued onto Conwell Street before crashing into a rock wall and chain link fence.

As police approached the vehicle, it was found unoccupied.

Snow was taken into custody on August 24 and charged with Intimidation (Level 6 felony), Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 felony), False Informing (Class A misdemeanor), Disorderly Conduct (Class B misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (Class B misdemeanor), Criminal Mischief (Class B misdemeanor), Battery Resulting in Injury (Class A misdemeanor), and Failure to Stop After An Accident (Class B misdemeanor).

A pre-trial hearing has been set for October 1 at 11:00 a.m.

Snow is currently being held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on $25,000 cash bond.
