(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The search continues for the bodies of Nylo Lattimore and James Hutchinson.

North Star International K9 Search and Recovery provided an update on the search earlier this week, stating “the river was against us”.

Due to heavy rains just a week ago, water covered a great amount of the search area near the Ohio River in Lawrenceburg.

The river shoreline was searched from the I-275 bridge past Aurora by trained searchers, along with certified cadaver dogs, and mounted horse unit.

Drones and helicopters were also used in the efforts.

Boats hit the water again Wednesday as the river has receded closer to normal levels. North Star International says boats will be out again Thursday, and a larger search with boats, dive team, dogs, horses and ground searchers will be out on Saturday.

The search for the young children has been a multi-agency effort.

Local agencies providing support include Lawrenceburg Police, Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office, Dearborn County Coroner, Hamilton County Coroner and HCPA Dive Team.

James Hutchinson, 6, was reported missing by his mother, Brittany Gosney, in late February. She later admitted to killing him when she tried to abandon him, according to Middletown Police.

The child’s body was put into the Ohio River.

Gosney has since been charged with Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, and Tampering with Evidence.

In the case of Nylo Lattimore, crews have been searching for his body since December following his mother’s death.

Desean Brown has been charged in connection with the death of Nylo’s mother. He is believed to have put Nylo in the Ohio River while he was alive.

Brown is facing the death penalty.
