Indiana Unemployment Mostly Unchanged In June

The state's jobless rate remains below the national average.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s unemployment rate remains mostly unchanged in June.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state’s jobless rate was at 3.3 percent in June, up from 3.2 percent a month prior.

However, Indiana’s unemployment rate remains lower than the national rate of 4.0 percent.

Locally, Franklin and Ohio counties had the lowest unemployment rate at 3.7 percent. Dearborn and Ripley counties came in at 3.8 percent, while Switzerland County’s jobless rate stood at 4.1 percent.

Indiana’s labor force stands at 3.36 million and the state’s 64.6 percent labor force participation rate remains above the national rate of 62.9 percent.
