Batesville Archers Bring Home Three State Titles

The NASP Bullseye and 3D Tournaments took place Saturday in Indianapolis.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville High School and Batesville Middle School claimed state championships on Saturday at the Indiana National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) State Tournament. 

The Bulldogs high school archery team placed first in the NASP State 3D Tournament with a score of 1688, defeating Evansville Reitz by one point. Batesville High School was also victorious in the Bullseye Tournament with an impressive score of 3403. Second-place Castle finished with 3360 points. 

Lydia Haskamp and William Patterson played a key role in the 3D Tournament victory, both scoring 286 points. Trace Scott added a 282, and Varshath Rajesh and Kayden Weiler scored 279 each. 

In the bullseye competition, Batesville was led by Lydia Haskamp with a score of 293, which was tops among high school female competitors. Trace Scott scored a 292, ranking third among high school males and first in the freshman class. Other top performers included Lillian Eckstein (288), Noah Ramsey (288), and William Patterson (283)

Batesville Middle School was first in the NASP State Bullseye Tournament with a score of 3269, defeating Triton Central by six point. 

Levi Trenkamp led the way with a personal-best score of 284, ranking 3rd among middle school males. Rebecca Siebert scored a 280, while Jack Pulskamp scored 279.

  • Madison Junior High placed 4th with a score of 1600
  • Batesville Middle School placed 8th with a score of 1567

High School Team Standings (out of 8 teams)

  • Batesville High School placed 1st with a score of 1688
  • Madison High School placed 6th with a score of 1656

 

NASP State Bullseye Tournament

Elementary School Team Standings (out of 21 teams)

  • Batesville Intermediate School placed 2nd with a score of 3034
  • Dillsboro Elementary School placed 17th with a score of 2802

Middle School Team Standings (out of 40 teams)

  • Batesville Middle School placed first with a score of 3269
  • Madison Junior High placed 5th with a score of 3211
  • South Dearborn Middle School placed 15th with a score of 3138

High School Team Standings (out of 33 teams)

  • Batesville High School placed first with a score of 3403
  • Madison High School placed 5th with a score of 3321
