Rushville Native Kicks Off SIRC with Win at Lion Pride 5K

Six 5K races will support cross country programs at local schools.

(Rushville, Ind.) – The first Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit event of 2023 took place last Saturday in Rushville.

The Lion Pride 5K is one of six SIRC races that support cross country programs at local schools.

Rushville native Noah Hufnagel, 24, won the Lion Pride 5K in decisive fashion. Hufnagel finished the race in 15:29.

Kyle Stanley, 19, of Falmouth, Indiana, placed second with a time of 17:05. Trevor Newby, 19, of Greensburg, rounded out the top three with a time of 17:43.

Batesville native Kaylie Raver was the top performing female competitor. The 17-year-old completed the 5K in 22:20.

Susan Morgan, 47, of Lawrenceburg (23:10), and Caitlin Raver, 13, of Batesville (23:44), rounded out the top three in the female division.

The next SIRC race is the Trojan Trot 5K in St. Leon. The race takes place on Saturday, July 8 at 8:30 a.m.
