Rising Sun's Simpson, Hayes Among ORVC Weekly Award Winners

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Five student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for April 15-20 was released on Tuesday.

Rising Sun’s Alyssa Simpson is the ORVC Softball Player of the Week. The Lady Shiners senior collected six hits, six RBI, and three runs in three games. She also went 2-0 in the pitching circle, tossing 10 innings, striking out 13, while allowing zero runs.

The ORVC Baseball Player of the Week is Brady Cook. The Southwester star had nine hits, four runs, four RBI and two stolen bases in five games. He also tossed six scoreless innings and struck out nine in a win.

Wyatt Barker (Southwestern) is the ORVC Boys Golfer of the Week. He carded a 39 and 40 at Butler Falls.

The ORVC Track and Field Performers of the Week are Ayden Potts (Milan) and Megan Hayes (Rising Sun).

Potts was the MVR at the South Dearborn Meet. Hayes earned weekly honors with a 13.36 in the 100 meters, and a 27.76 in the 200 meters.
