BOYS SOCCER

IHSAA 2A Sectional 28 at Lawrenceburg – First Round

South Dearborn 3, Rushville 1 – South Dearborn advances to meet Greensburg in the sectional semi-final round on Wednesday, October 3.

Greensburg 6, Franklin County 5

 

IHSAA 1A Sectional 46 at Jac-Cen-Del – First Round

South Ripley 2, Milan 1 – SR 3-1 in PK – Still at a stalemate after double overtime, the match came down to penalty kicks. South Ripley won in PK 3-1. Goalkeeper Cory Ralston saved 16 of 18 shots for South Ripley. Making goals for South Ripley were Cory Ralston, Alvaro Sais and Lukas Leszczynski. Milan’s Malachi Scott had a goal on a penalty kick in the second half. The Raiders advance to play Shawe Memorial in the sectional semi-final round on Wednesday, October 3.

 

IHSAA 1A Sectional 44 at Southwestern (Shelbyville) – First Round

Greenwood Christian Academy 2, Oldenburg Academy 0 – It was a much-too-soon end to the season for Oldenburg, who faced a great Christian Academy team. OA’s season ends with a 10-3-2 record.

 

CROSS COUNTRY

Batesville’s boys and girls runners both claimed the team and individual wins at a home quad meet with East Central, Franklin County, and Lawrenceburg on Monday. The Batesville boys were led by first-place runner freshman Ean Loichinger at 16:54. Three Bulldog teammates followed Loichinger in second through fourth place: Adam Moster, Joshua Meyers, and Benjamin Moster. East Central was second as a team led by Garrett Ardis’ fifth-place finish at 18:13. Franklin County was third as a team. Lawrenceburg did not field a complete team.

In the girls competition, Batesville freshman Lily Pinckley was first at 20:13 to led her team to the win. Fellow Bulldog Elizabeth Loichinger was third. East Central was second, with Emilee Wedding placing fourth at 21:10. Franklin County was third as a team with Lauren Kelly coming in second at 20:46. Lawrenceburg was fourth, led by Hannah Morgan at 22:56.

VOLLEYBALL

Batesville 3, Greensburg 1 – 25-20, 25-11, 22-25, 26-24 – Hattie Westerfeld posted 17 kills, 4 blocks, 3 digs, and an ace for Batesville. Macy Prickel had 16 digs, 11 kills, and an ace.
