JCD's Day Scores 1000th Point; Earns ORVC Weekly Honor

The Lady Eagles star is averaging 18.2 points per game this season.

(Osgood, Ind.) – Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles basketball star Mariah Day notched her 1,000th career point to earn Ohio River Valley Conference weekly honors.

The ORVC report for December 17 through January 5 was released on Tuesday.

Mariah Day is the ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week after posting 101 points, 38 rebounds, 23 assists and eight steals in five games over the holidays.

To date, Day is the second leading scorer in the ORVC at 18.2 points per game. Only Shawe Memorial’s Kate Grote averages more points at 22.7 per contest.

As a team, Jac-Cen-Del is 13-4 and ranked #7 in Class 2A.

The ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week went to Southwestern’s Matthew Williams. The Rebels star averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds and three steals over his last two games. Williams has played a key role in helping Southwestern ascend to the #1 team in Class 2A with a 13-1 overall record.
