Franklin County Basketball Star Commits to Transylvania University

Transylvania is getting a double-double machine.

(Brookville, Ind.) - Nicole Mears intends to play college basketball in Lexington, Kentucky. 

The Franklin County High School senior on Sunday announced her commitment to Transylvania University. 

Mears, an all-conference selection as a junior, is off to a great start to her senior season. Through eight games, Mears is leading the EIAC in scoring at 19.7 points per game, and is second in the conference in rebounding at 9.0 per game. 

Franklin County is currently 6-2 (2-0 in the EIAC). 

Their next game is Thursday at North Decatur.
