(Columbus, Oh.) - Thirteen Harrison High School wrestlers competed at the State Finals over the weekend, with four making it to the final day.
The OHSAA Boys and Girls Wrestling State Finals was held March 7-9 at the Schottenstein Center on the campus of Ohio State University.
Harrison's girls wrestling team had six state qualifiers and one alternate:
- Aubrey Del Angel (100 lbs, alternate)
- Caiden Baird (105 lbs.)
- Leah Willen (110 lbs.)
- Olivia Olive (130 lbs.)
- Haylynn Littleton (135 lbs.)
- Rylee Dearwester (140 lbs.)
- Veronica Decaluwe (145 lbs.)
Dearwester was the top placer, finishing 3rd at 140 pounds. She won the third-place match with a take down and near fall in the final minute to win 6-4. Leah Willen is now a three-time State Placer after finishing 4th at 110 pounds. Littleton injury defaults during her 7th/8th place match, finishing on the podium.
Owen Dennis was the top placing boys wrestler from Harrison, placing 8th at 150 pounds.
