(Covington, Ky.) – A road that has been prone to landslides will close for a year for a complete reconstruct.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced today a reconstruction project on a 1.2-mile section of U.S. 42 in Gallatin County.
The year-long closure is scheduled to begin on November 1.
The $18 million project will include relocation of utilities, install of a tie-back wall and construction of a new roadway.
Signage will be in place to detour traffic using KY 1039 to I-71 to KY 35.
The project has a November 2023 completion date.
