Whiskey City Rope Burners 3-Peat as Fire Truck Pull Winners

Thousands of dollars were raised on Saturday to benefit Special Olympics Indiana.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Local communities members showed off their strength while raising money for a great cause. 

Special Olympics Indiana – Ripley Ohio Dearborn Counties held their annual Fire Truck Pull on Saturday in downtown Lawrenceburg.

For the third straight year, the “Whiskey City Rope Burners” took first place in the fastest pull competition, crossing the finish line in 12.51 seconds.

“Fight Heavy Weights” came in second place with a time of 12.70 seconds, followed by “The Lean Mean Fight Machine” with a time of 13.65 seconds.

For the second year in a row, South Ripley High School’s Team #2 won the high school pull challenge. South Ripley High School’s Team #1 won the lowest combined weight pull with a time of 57.66 seconds. They were able to accomplish the pull with just four students, weighing in at 600 pounds.

Borderline Bar & Grill in West Harrison won the prize for the team raising the most money ($2,100). The top individual fundraiser was Kevin Beiersdorfer, who raised $700 for his team. AJ Williams was recognized as the top fundraiser of all Special Olympic athletes, raising $190 for his team.

Proceeds from the event will benefit local Special Olympic athletes.
