Village of Addyston Council Votes to Disband Police Department

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will begin patrolling the village on Friday.

(Addyston, Oh.) – A big decision was made on this week to disband the Addyston Police Department.

The Village of Addyston Council approved disbandment by a vote of 4-to-3 on Tuesday evening.

The department has been short-staffed with two police officers, a police chief and a part-time officer. The upcoming closure of the INEOS plant also factored in the decision, as the business was a major source of tax money.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will reportedly begin patrolling the village on Friday.
