(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg High School student has raised $23,000 to help find a cure for ALS.

Senior student Logan Lawrence organized the Cruisin' to a Cure Car Show in Lawrenceburg on May 6 and 7. Hundreds of hot rods and classic cars descended upon the city’s downtown for the second annual event.

During a presentation at the high school on Thursday, Lawrence handed over a check for $23,000 to the ALS Foundation Indiana Chapter.

Logan’s grandfather, Carlos, died after battling ALS.

Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun thanked Logan for partnering with the city for the car show. Plans are already underway for the show to return to downtown Lawrenceburg in 2019, Mollaun said.

About 15 of Logan’s fellow students were among the 60 volunteers who helped make the car show possible. Lawrence also thanked sponsors including Jeff Wyler Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Lawrence Motorsports, Eagle Country 99.3, Oyler Family Dentistry and United Community Bank.
