VIDEO: Hidden Valley Polar Bear Dip

The New Year's Day tradition has splashed into the frigid lake for 25 years.

(Hidden Valley, Ind.) - Dozens of folks’ sanity was questioned as they splashed into Hidden Valley Lake on New Year’s Day.

The Polar Bear Dip is a tradition at the HVL beach, with yesterday’s plunge marking 25 years.

The water was as frigid as expected, checking in at only about 43 degrees. That didn’t stop the polar bear wannabes from running into the lake.

The New Year’s Day event is free to do for anyone who shows up.
