Two Wrecks, Two Intoxicated Driving Arrests In Dearborn County

Deputies had to deal with at least two drunk driving crashes on Saturday.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Two OWI arrests were made after a couple vehicle crashes in Dearborn County on Saturday, December 1.

The first wreck happened about 12:53 p.m. when James DeMoss, 36, of Cincinnati, went left of center on Stateline Road at Seldom Seen Drive. His vehicle hit an oncoming vehicle head-on, according to sheriff’s deputies.

DeMoss was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person (class A misdemeanor) and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (class C misdemeanor).

The second crash happened Saturday evening on State Road 1 near Tanner Valley Church when a pickup truck wrecked into a guardrail.

The driver fled the scene. Greendale Police officers soon tracked him down in the area.

Dion Skelton, 50, of Freeport, Texas, allegedly admitted to drunk driving. His BAC on a portable breath test was .16, twice the legal driving limit, deputies said.

Skelton was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a Prior Conviction (level 6 felony), Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person (class A misdemeanor), Failure to Stop After an Accident (class B misdemeanor), and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (class C misdemeanor).
