Tri-State Homes Get With The Cord-Cutting Trend

Everyday in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, fewer people are subscribing to cable television packages.

(Undated) - Tri-state residents are no different than many in America who are cutting the cord when it comes to cable television.

Cord-cutting is the trend of households who are cancelling their cable TV subscriptions in favor of streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV, or HBO Go.

Waterstone Group, a tech company and investor consulting firm, surveyed 5,000 American adults in December 2018 about their cable usage. The survey indicated that 59 percent have cut the cord and another 29 percent are thinking about it.

Kentucky has the second-highest rate of cord-cutting in the nation at 70 percent who have dropped cable TV. Indiana ranked 23rd at 60 percent and Ohio is 31st at 55 percent.

Idaho has the highest rate of cord-cutters at 72 percent, while New Jersey has the lowest at 36 percent.
