(Milan, Ind.) – A Water Boil Advisory is in effect until Saturday in the Town of Milan.

On Wednesday afternoon, an old pipe started leaking, and as the valves were shut off to prevent further water loss, the pressure caused three more leaks in different locations.

According to the Town of Milan, crews worked overnight to repair three of the leaks, with the fourth leak expected to be fixed this morning.

Everyone’s water is expected to be restored at some point today.

The Water Boil Advisory is a precaution to ensure no contaminants are in the water. We recommend using bottled water for drinking and cooking until the Advisory is lifted but the water is safe for bathing.

Testing for contaminants cannot be started until all leaks have been fixed. The testing process will then last 48 hours.

If both samples come back clear, the boil advisory will be lifted.
