Wait until you see how much money the students raised for Special Olympics Indiana.
(Versailles, Ind.) – The annual Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Indiana was a huge success.
Despite freezing temperatures, the local event at Versailles State Park saw a big turnout, raising over $65,000 on the plunge alone.
That number does not take into consideration the 5K run/walk and other fundraising events surrounding the Plunge.
While the final fundraising total has not been released at this time, Special Olympics Indiana – Ripley Dearborn Ohio Counties is already ahead of their $50,000 goal.
South Ripley High School played a big part in the fundraising effort by bringing in $10,921.
All funds raised during the Polar Plunge benefit more than 16,000 athletes throughout Indiana and help ensure an ever-growing number of children and adults with intellectual disabilities can participate in the state’s sports, health, education, and leadership programs at no cost.
