SEIREMC Announces Planned Outage

By Southeastern Indiana REMC, news release

The outage is necessary so crews can change out a damaged utility pole.

(Osgood, Ind.) - A planned outage has been scheduled for the morning of April 13, 2022, at approximately 10 a.m. to change out a damaged utility pole. The outage is expected to last three to six hours and will impact approximately 100 members located on Georgetown Road from the intersection of Fairway Drive to the intersection of Morning Side Drive in Dearborn County, Indiana.

Southeastern Indiana REMC encourages all members in the affected location to prepare for this interruption in service and will work quickly and safely to restore the power in a timely manner.

“We try to make repairs without interrupting the electric service whenever possible,” said Jim Downey, Line Superintendent, “but in cases like this one, it is not safe to change out the pole while it is still energized.”

If the work is not able to be completed on April 13th, the backup date for the planned outage is April 14th.
