UPDATE: School Shooting In Noblesville, Indiana 

A 13-year-old girl and a teacher were hospitalized as the shooter was taken into custody Friday morning.

Update published at 1:45 p.m.:

A teacher and a student have been injured after a school shooting in Indiana. 

Noblesville Police Chief Kevin Jowitt says the situation is contained at Noblesville West Middle School, located located just northeast of Indianapolis.

"There is a male student at Noblesville West Middle School who has been detained. We believe he is the involved suspect," Jowitt said in a press conference.

The victims reportedly are a 13-year-old girl and an adult teacher. Their conditions at Indianapolis area hospitals are unknown. 

Jowitt said the first 911 call came in at 9:06 a.m. reporting an active shooter. Officers from Noblesville Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and Indiana State Police responded immediately. 

It is unclear how the active shooting situation was brought to an end.

The school's students were bused to nearby Noblesville High School to be reunited with their parents. 

Vice President and former Indiana governor Mike Pence tweeted his condolences as news of the shooting broke.

(Noblesville, Ind.) - Two people are in critical condition and a gunman is in custody after a shooting at a school in central Indiana. 

Police say that the situation is contained at Noblesville West Middle School, located just northeast of Indianapolis. 

The victims reportedly are a 13-year-old girl and an adult. The school is on lockdown. 

The students are being bused to nearby Noblesville High School. A SWAT team is sweeping the school and the FBI is on the scene.

The shooting comes a week after 10 people were killed at a school in Santa Fe, Texas.
