Road Work On I-275 To Cause 15-Minute Traffic Holds

This work will begin at 8:00 p.m. tonight, July 1.

(Boone Co., Ky.) - Wednesday, July 1, bridge work will cause traffic delays along I-275.

Starting at 8:00 p.m., work on the new interchange at I-275 and Graves Road will require roadblocks eastbound and westbound.

Law enforcement will be in place just west of the Carroll Cropper bridge on the Kentucky side. Officers will hold traffic in 15-minute increments so that work crews will be able to safely conduct bridge work above the interstate. Additional law enforcement will be in place at the Petersburg exit (Exit 11) to close the on-ramp to I-275 eastbound. The closure will continue to about one hour.

After work is done in the eastbound lanes, the rolling roadblocks will start in the westbound lanes at 9:00 p.m. At the Airport exit (Exit 4), law enforcement will hold traffic for 15-minute increments to start work in the westbound lane. Officers will also be in place at the Hebron/KY 237 exit (Exit 8) and will close the on-ramp to I-275 westbound. This closure will also last about an hour.

At 10:00 p.m., all lanes are expected to be open to traffic, including the access ramps to the interstate.

All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through active work zones.
