(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Five people are facing charges after marijuana, meth, and children were found together in a Lawrenceburg home.

Police went to the Elm Street residence on September 28 in order to conduct a welfare check after a teen living there arrived at Lawrenceburg High School that morning smelling of marijuana. It was the same residence which police had earlier received tips about a lot of persons arriving and leaving, consistent with illegal drug activity.

Officers say they could smell marijuana when they knocked on the door. When the door was opened, the stench became even stronger.

Inside, police allegedly found marijuana, as well as the active process of the plant being turned into marijuana edibles and butter. There was also evidence marijuana was being packaged for sale, according to a court affidavit.

But that’s not all they discovered. Officers say they found methamphetamine with bags and a scale kept in a child’s bedroom. Pills and syringes were also allegedly in the home.

Police say two children lived in the home with their mother, Rebecca Hunsucker.

Five people present when police arrived are facing charges and possible long stints behind bars.
