Perfect North Slopes Founder Dies At 87

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The founder of Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg has died.

Clyde A. Perfect passed away peacefully on Wednesday at the age of 87.

While Perfect was a Delaware, Ohio native, he made a lasting impact in Dearborn County.

Perfect and his wife, Ella Mae, moved to Guilford in 1965, where they had a very successful brick contracting business. With the help of his wife and five children, Perfect also created the Perfect Stock Farm, where they raised cattle and crops.

Then in 1980, Perfect’s most well-known creation came to fruition with the opening of Perfect North Slopes ski area. The ski slopes have since blossomed into one of the most successful ski areas in the Midwest.

Aside from being a great businessman, Perfect was involved with Dearborn County 4-H and assisted the Miller York Volunteer Fire Department with many fundraisers over the years.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Ella Mae Perfect; daughter, Tarry Feiss (husband Todd); son, Chip Perfect (wife Ellen); son, Ken Perfect (wife Sharon); daughter, Penny Rollins (husband Jerry); daughter, Jill Guzman (husband David); 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 31 in the Perfect North Slopes parking area. Attendees are asked to arrive between 5:30-6:00 p.m. Everyone is to remain in their vehicles as the service will be broadcast on an FM station.

Following the service, attendees are asked to pass by Ella Mae and the family in their cars as they exit.
