(Indianapolis, Ind.) - The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is offering paid spring-semester internships in its legislative, legal, policy, communications and information technology offices during the 2019 session of the Indiana General Assembly, said State Sen. Chip Perfect (R-Lawrenceburg).

Qualified candidates must be at least a college sophomore. Recent college graduates as well as graduate school and law school students are also encouraged to apply. Positions are open to Indiana residents as well as non-residents who attend a college or university located within the state.

Benefits include a $750 biweekly stipend, scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development, community involvement and networking.

Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis that begin with a mandatory orientation in late December and conclude at the end of the legislative session in April 2019.

“Interning for the Senate during a legislative session is an incredible opportunity, and I encourage all who are interested to apply,” Perfect said. “Our program provides interns with an up-close view of state government. Interns get the chance to follow legislation as it moves from a committee all the way to the governor’s desk, which I believe those interested in public policy and state government would enjoy.”

The deadline to apply is Oct. 31.
