(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Aurora and Lawrenceburg have been chosen to be a part of the first River Town Review.
There were 9 communities chosen by the Ohio River Recreation Trail (ORRT) and National Park Service to be a part of the review.
ORRT is a volunteer-led organization with the goal of connecting Portsmouth, Ohio and West Point, Kentucky. ORRT plans to do this by establishing a self-guided adventure trail along the river. This trail would be 274 miles using land and waterway.
“The River Town Review program, designed by the National Park Service, helps communities identify their outdoor recreation assets and prioritize projects which could improve the quality of life for their residents while attracting visitors from throughout the Midwest,” said Brewster Rhoads, Co-Chair of the Ohio River Recreation Trail.
There will be a River Town Review Virtual Summit on October 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pre-register online at https://bit.ly/3EB1Boz. Leaders of the ORRT program and the communities involved will be speaking.
