The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office has released more information regarding Thursday morning's crash.
(Manchester, Ind.) – Two vehicles were involved in a Thursday morning crash that shut down State Road 48 for several hours.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on State Road 48 at North Hogan Road around 6:23 a.m.
It was determined that a passenger vehicle, driven by Derek Sykes, 20 of Lawrenceburg, failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled onto SR 48 in the path of a semi, driven by Andrew Loosa, 36, of Sunman.
As a result of the crash, Sykes was entrapped in his vehicle and required extradition by Manchester Fire personnel. UC aircare was unable to respond due to visibility (fog), so Sykes was transported to Margaret Mary Health in Batesville. He was later transferred to UC Medical Center. His current condition was not released.
Loosa was transported to Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg and was later released.
Indiana State Police, Moores Hill Police, Manchester and Sunman Fire/EMS assisted at the scene.
