(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Gage Pace, economic development manager for One Dearborn, Inc., has been recognized as an emerging leader in economic development in being selected as one of just five recipients of the 2024 Bob Ady Scholarship by the Mid-America Economic Development Council. The Bob Ady Scholarship Program aims to support economic development professionals in their pursuit of professional growth and excellence. Offered to budding economic developers across 13 midwestern states, the scholarship is named to honor the legacy of Bob Ady, a notable figure in U.S. economic development. The scholarship provides recipients including Pace with opportunities for professional mentoring from seasoned and accomplished economic developers. He will also receive complimentary registration to both of Mid-America EDC’s 2024 Conferences, including the Best Practices Conference to be held in July in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the Mid-America Competitiveness Conference to be held in December in Columbus, Ohio. These conferences offer a chance to broaden industry knowledge, learn best practices, improve skills, and engage in networking. “Since joining One Dearborn in 2022, Gage has been eager to take on new challenges with our business retention and expansion program, marketing our communities for new business, and Southeast Indiana’s READI initiative. We’re very glad to have this dynamic, young economic development professional on our team in Dearborn County, Indiana,” said Mark Graver, President of the One Dearborn Board of Directors. One Dearborn extends its gratitude to the I-74 Business Corridor for providing Pace with membership to the Mid-America Economic Development Council. This regional support underscores the collaborative spirit within Southeast Indiana and enhances collective efforts in economic development. Pace’s selection for this scholarship underscores One Dearborn’s commitment to the economic vitality of Dearborn County and the I-74 Business Corridor. It also highlights the significant impact which Pace has made in his role at One Dearborn and volunteering with Brookville Main Street, contributing to the I-74 region’s economic development efforts, and setting a strong example for professional growth and community service. “I look forward to applying what I learn from participation in the Bob Ady Scholarship Program to advancing economic development in Dearborn County and Southeast Indiana so our communities remain vibrant and thriving. Thanks to the Mid-America Economic Development Council for this opportunity,” Pace said.
