(Dearborn County, Ind.) - One Dearborn, the Economic Development organization in Dearborn County, announces the addition of an experienced professional to the team. Matt Zimmerman has joined One Dearborn in the role of Economic Development Specialist.

Sometimes things just align and bring you to the place you should be. As luck would have it, Mr. Zimmerman is a newlywed who recently relocated from Indianapolis to join his wife, Bridget, in the Cincinnati area. He holds a Master of Public Affairs with a concentration in Finance and Economic Development. His undergraduate work at the University of Indianapolis yielded a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Matt was also a dedicated sprinter and served as Captain of the UIndy Track and Field team.

“I first met Matt in my role as a board member of the Indiana Bond Bank. I came to know his skills as the Marketing and Program Director for the IBB and was impressed with his professionalism from the start,” says Terri Randall, President and CEO of One Dearborn.  In addition to his experience in marketing and program leadership at the IBB, Mr. Zimmerman spent more than five years working for the State of Indiana, Office of the Lt. Governor. In that role, he served as a liaison between the five agencies under the Lt. Governor’s purview including OCRA, the Office of Tourism Development and others. He worked closely with legislators and the general public as the Lt. Governor’s Director of Constituent Services.

Zimmerman also brings experience with the City of Franklin as Director of Operations where he supported Mayor Joe McGuinness who is now INDOT Commissioner. One Dearborn hopes to capitalize on Matt’s past experience in state and city government, as well as his marketing expertise, to give the important project work on their plate a shot-in-the-arm.

“I really enjoyed my years in state and local government. However, this role with One Dearborn is an opportunity to transition into the economic development industry and apply my experience to make a difference in the community,” said Zimmerman. “I am energized by the passion One Dearborn has for this region and can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get to work,” added Zimmerman.
