(Harrison, Oh.) – Community members will have the opportunity to make their voices heard about the Bond Road Landfill.

The Ohio EPA will hold a virtual public meeting on Tuesday, April 12 to discuss and take comments on a draft permit that would increase the amount of daily waste Bond Road Landfill is allowed to accept.

If accepted, the permit would allow the landfill to accept up to 1,500 tons of waste per day – which would have a lifespan of approximately 12.8 years.

The current limit is 100 tons a day.

The virtual meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

Attendees will see a short presentation about the permitting process and the draft permit, followed by a hearing where the public can submit written comments on the record about the draft permit.

To register for the virtual public meeting, visit Registration (gotowebinar.com).

Anyone may submit comments and/or request to be on a mailing list to receive notice regarding further action on the draft permit by writing to: Ohio EPA, Division of Materials and Waste Management, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, Ohio 43216, attention Brian Dearth, or by email to epa.dmwmcomments@epa.ohio.gov. The public comment period ends on May 4.
