(Batesville, Ind.) – Run or walk to “Stop the Stigma” this September.
Margaret Mary Health will host a Suicide Prevention and Awareness 5K on Saturday, September 23. The race is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Park in Batesville.
In 2020 alone, more than 46,000 lives were lost due to suicide.
The non-competitive event is designed for walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. All proceeds benefit the Health Foundation’s Addiction Services & Behavioral Health Fund.
During the event, participants are asked to wear honor beads with each color representing personal connection to the cause.
- Purple: Loss of a relative or friend
- Red: Loss of a spouse or partner
- Orange: Loss of a sibling
- White: Loss of a child
- Green: Survivor
- Blue: I Support the cause
