(Covington, Ky.) - Nearly 10 years after going missing and being confirmed dead just four months ago, Paige Johnson's case is moving forward. The man believed to be the last person to see Johnson has been taken into custody.

Today, an investigation was presented to the Clermont County Grand Jury, indicting Jacob Bumpass, 32, on charges of Abuse of a Corpse and Tampering with Evidence.

FOX-19 reports that Bumpass’ cell phone records place him in the East Fork Lake State Park area the morning Johnson disappeared, a mile or two from where her body was recovered.

“Working on the original search at East Fork Lake in 2010, and following this case for 10 grueling years, I am thankful that my Office was able to work in conjunction with the Covington Police Department to bring Bumpass to justice. It is my sincere hope that this helps bring a sense of closure to the family of Paige Johnson.” Sheriff Robert S. Leahy.

Bumpass was taken into custody just before 1:00 p.m. and processed into the Clermont County Jail at 2:15 p.m. today. He is being held without bond and will appear in court for an arraignment hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.

A press conference will be held at the Kenton County Administration Building at 3:30 p.m.
