(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A man is in jail after he allegedly ran over a woman, put her in the bed of his pickup truck, drove her to their home, and refused to let her call 911.

Lawrenceburg Police say Juan “Johnny” Carlos Williams, 33, of Lawrenceburg, had been arguing with a woman when she left their home and went to a park on George Street on Tuesday, September 18, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Williams drove his 1994 GMC Sierra truck to the park where more arguing ensued. At some point, the woman’s arm got stuck in the truck’s window as Williams “took off.” That’s when the woman was run over, suffering a fractured pelvis and other injuries.

Instead of seeking help for the woman, Williams picked her up, put her in the bed of his truck, and drove her home.

The victim told police Williams refused to let her or their children to call 911. A neighbor eventually contacted police, who came to investigate. The woman was taken to Highpoint Health for treatment.

Williams was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury (level 5 felony), Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon (level 6 felony), and Failure to Stop After an Accident (level 6 felony).
