(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Two southeastern Indiana men are facing multiple drug related charges following a traffic stop on Fourth of July weekend.

Scott Urban, 33, of Batesville, and Zachery Rogers, 28, of Aurora, were taken into custody on July 3 following a late night traffic stop on Arch Street in Lawrenceburg.

Lawrenceburg Police initiated the traffic stop due to a failure to signal.

During the traffic stop, officers say they immediately observed Rogers unconscious in the passenger seat. According to a probable cause affidavit, Rogers appeared to have suffered an overdose. He was revived with a dose of Narcan.

Officers also observed a firearm in the driver door panel while making contact with Urban. Five of the six chambers in the cylinder of the revolver contained a bullet. Urban allegedly told police he did not have a permit to carry a handgun.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located methamphetamine, multiple cell phones, glass pipes, two hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

Officers say Urban was also in possession of $400 in counterfeit currency.

Urban is charged with Carry a Handgun Without a License (Level 5 Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Heroin (Level 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), Forgery (Level 6 Felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

Rogers is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony), Possession of Heroin (Level 6 Felony), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Level 6 Felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).

Both men are currently held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
