King & Queen Crowned, Citizen of the Year Announced at Dillsboro Homecoming Festival

It was a wet first night at the festival, but the show must go on.

(Dillsboro, Ind.) – A little rain did not stop opening night festivities from happening on Wednesday night at the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival.

Per usual, the opening night of the festival saw the crowning of the King and Queen and Prince and Princess, in addition to several awards being handed out.

The winners are:

  • King and Queen: Blake Roberts and Mariyah Baker
  • Prince and Princess: Weston Downey and Novia Ellsworth
  • Senior King and Queen: Mike and Loretta Heffelmire
  • Outstanding Citizen: Cheryl Drury
  • EMS of the Year: Mike Wallace
  • Firefighter of the Year: LT Seth McKeever
  • Policeman of the Year: Derek Stevens

Opening Ceremony for night two of the Dillsboro Homecoming Festival is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Baby Contest will follow at 7:15 then live music by CMN Trio at 8:30. 

Registration for the Baby Contest is from 5:30 to 6:45. Zero to 24 months will be judged. The entrance fee is $5.
