(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana’s unemployment rate continues to drop, and it is nearing where it was pre-pandemic.
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the state’s jobless rate fell to 4.0 percent in February, down from 4.2 percent a month prior.
At this time last year, Indiana’s unemployment rate was at 3.2 percent. Indiana’s jobless rate has rebounded nicely from the COVID-19 pandemic and remains above the national rate of 6.2 percent.
The state labor force stands at 3.34 million with a 63.2 percent labor force participation rate, which is above the national rate of 61.4 percent.
Among neighboring states, Ohio had an unemployment rate of 5.0 in February, while Kentucky’s jobless rate was at 5.2 percent.
