Harrison Mayor's Fund Comes Up Big This Holiday Season for Local Families in Need

Nearly 100 local families benefited from the HMCF donation drive this Christmas.

(Harrison, Oh.) – Nearly 100 local families were assisted this holiday season through the Harrison Mayor’s Community Fund.

The City of Harrison announced Tuesday that neighbors and businesses came together to help 97 local families experiencing hardship this holiday season.

More than 700 toys and stuffed animals were collected at drop-off sites throughout the city leading up to the Christmas holiday.

Those gifts were distributed to a total of 433 residents, including over 180 children age 12 and under and over 60 teens.

Families in need also received non-perishable food items that were collected by Southwest Local School District, and frozen protein products from JTM.

Throughout 2023, the HMCF provided over $57,000 in financial assistance to local families. A goal of $78,000 in financial assistance has been set for 2024.

To help reach that goal, the HMCF is planning a golf outing at Sugar Ridge Golf Course on the second Saturday in August.
