Harrison Junior School Moves To Remote Learning Amid Growing COVID-19 Cases

The high school is also on remote learning this week.

(Harrison, Oh.) – Harrison Junior School is moving to remote learning for the rest of the week.

This comes after a rise in COVID-19 cases at the school.

Superintendent John Hamstra says, “the sheer number of positive students and staff absences due to positive tests/family member quarantines is putting us in a position to have to go remote for the week of December 15-18 at Harrison Junior School and Harrison High School only.”

Harrison High School moved to remote learning on Monday after positive student and staff cases tripled in past weeks.

Hamstra says this is the first and only week of the 15 that make up the first semester, that the schools have had to go to remote learning.

Both the junior and high school are scheduled to resume face-to-face and remote options staring January 4 – depending on which option families previously chose for the second semester.

K-5 students will continue face-to-face for the remainder of the week.

Due to extra-curriculars not being impacted, with the exception of girls basketball which is paused, other sports will continue as normal. Coaches will communicate with their respective teams regarding schedules for this week and the holiday break.

Meals will be available for those in need on Thursday, December 17 from 3 – 4 PM. Please call the Junior School Office @ 513.367.4831 to place your order for this week, before 3PM Wednesday (Dec. 16). Distribution will take place at the junior school café entrance on the back / west side of the school.
