Graduating Students from EC, SD, L'Burg Eligible for Dearborn Co. CASA Scholarships

The application deadline is approaching.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Graduating students from East Central, Lawrenceburg, and South Dearborn high schools are encouraged to apply for a Dearborn County CASA scholarship.

Dearborn County CASA awards three $1,250 scholarships to one graduating student from each of the three high schools.

Students should write an essay about perspectives on alcohol, vaping, tobacco, or other drugs. This can be a national, state, or local perspective or a personal narrative on specific experiences.

Essay theme examples include:

  • Why do you choose to be drug-free?
  • What are the arguments to our community to address these issues?
  • Or any similar themes pertaining these issues.

The essay should be between 750 and 1,000 words.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have a “C” or above GPA, should not have a record of suspensions or expulsions due to substance-related issues, and provide proof of acceptance to a college or technical school.

The application deadline is April 22.
