(Greendale, Ind.) - Greendale and Lawrenceburg golf cart owners will soon be able to travel between cities thanks to a new ordinance.

Greendale Police released this week the proper traveling directors for golf cart users when access opens July 1 between Greendale and Lawrenceburg.

The only access for a golf cart to travel on is Ridge Avenue from Broadway Street. No other side streets are permitted to enter Ridge Avenue. Carts should turn right on Ridge Avenue from Broadway Street. Once you reach the intersection of Main and Fourth streets, turn left at the light and then turn left on to Front Street.

From Front Street, carts will need to travel behind Greendale Middle School and Lawrenceburg High School to approach the tunnel that goes under U.S. 50 and exits near the VP gas station on Arch Street.

According to Greendale Police, golf carts shall not attempt to cross U.S. 50 without using the tunnel under any circumstances.

In addition, all golf carts utilizing the access to/from Greendale and Lawrenceburg are to follow all golf cart rules, which include having a valid registration sticker in place, obey all traffic laws, have a valid driver's license, and children 10 years and under are not to be riding on the back of the cart.
