Fire Damages Brook Hill Golf Clubhouse

The fire happened as golfers were on the course Saturday, but the golf club is already back open for business.

(Brookville, Ind.) - Fire damaged a section of the clubhouse at Brook Hill Golf Course in Brookville on Saturday, June 1.

The fire broke out in the golf cart storage area beneath the clubhouse, The Franklin County Observer newsletter reports. Firefighters from Brookville, Liberty, Blooming Grove, Cedar Grove, and Metamora responded and put out the blaze.

However, electric golf carts stored in the basement were largely destroyed. Most of the club’s gas-powered carts were out on the course at the time.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

Although part of the clubhouse was damaged, Brook Hill Golf Course was able to be open for golf on Sunday. White's Auction allowed a trailer to serve as a temporary "clubhouse" so the facility could continue doing business.

The golf course invited the local firefighters to enjoy free golf.
