Dillsboro Honors Donors & Volunteers At 'The Evening Of Thanks'

Throughout 2019, 133 volunteers logged 18,485 hours of service to the programs, events, and non-profits in Dillsboro.  

(Dillsboro, Ind.) - "They say that it takes a village to raise a child….in Dillsboro, it takes volunteers to run the town," says  Susan Greco, Dillsboro Executive Director of the Dillsboro Community Partnership (DCP). 

On Friday, March 6, the DCP hosted their annual event to recognize and celebrate volunteerism in the community, The Evening of Thanks

Throughout 2019, 133 volunteers logged 18,485 hours of service to the programs, events, and non-profits in Dillsboro.  

“Many more were not accounted for”, said Greco. “People give of their time and talents everyday, without even thinking about it.” 

Jim Hughes was recognized as Volunteer of the Year with over 1,200 volunteer hours logged. 

Hughes volunteers with many sports programs in Dillsboro and South Dearborn. He also volunteers a couple of days a week delivering food to those in need with the Clearinghouse.
