(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Health Department wants you to know the best ways to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Community members are encouraged to:

- Refraining from unnecessary travel

- Stay home if possible

- Limit Trips to Public Places

- Maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more

- Wash hands frequently and avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth

- Clean high traffic surfaces often”

“If exhibiting mild symptoms of COVID-19, you should track the onset of symptoms and self-isolate.

- Self-isolation should occur for 14 days after symptom onset.

- Speak with your doctor about ruling out other infection (for example: Flu, Strep, Mono)

- Please keep yourself separate from others in the household including pets.

- One person should be designated to provide care for the symptomatic individual.

- Wearing masks, hand washing and implementing cleaning procedures is optimal.

- Monitor for changes in cough, fever or shortness of breath. If severity increases please call your doctor, Urgent Care or Hospital ER about which steps to take next.

- Similarly, those exposed to household members who are symptomatic should refrain from integration with others in the community as much as possible.

If you or someone you know is currently experiencing fever and SEVERE respiratory symptoms, DO NOT HESITATE to contact your physician, Urgent Care or Hospital ER via phone to receive instruction on what to do next.

Together, we want to reduce the risk of ongoing exposures and ensure care is available to those who need it most.”
