(Dearborn County, Ind.) – Dearborn County Commissioner Rick Probst got to help voice concerns about Indiana’s infrastructure needs directly to officials in the White House.

Probst, a Republican first term commissioner, was among Indiana officials invited to participate in a Regional State Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. on August 20. Designed for county leaders, the forums include briefings and discussions with multiple federal agency representatives to share information about local government issues.

Along with other attendees, Probst had the opportunity to tour the White House and visit the offices of the National Association of Counties, an organization representing counties across the country.

The Indiana local officials met with Vice President Mike Pence and senior administration officials to share federal, state, and local priorities including infrastructure, rural development, disaster recovery and resilience, as well as energy development.

Probst also heard from more than 10 senior administrative officials including Stephen Censky of the U.S. Department of Agriculture; Kendel Ehrlich of the Office of National Drug Control Policy; Alex Amparo of the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and Ryan Fisher of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
