City Of Aurora Announces Facade Improvement Grant Recipients

More than a dozen businesses, organizations and residential homes are in for a face-lift.

(Aurora, Ind.) – More than a dozen downtown Aurora businesses, organizations and residents are in line for façade improvements.

The City of Aurora announced Wednesday the recipients of Façade Improvement Matching Grants.

City manager Derek Walker says many tough decisions were made narrowing down over $130,000 in requests to the budgeted $50,000 in available grant funds.

The city’s $50,000 investment will result in $209,803.69 in private projects this year.

“The FIMG program has been a successful program in the City, protecting our critical and cultural assets and since 2016 stimulating nearly a million dollars in investment within the Downtown Business District,” said Walker. “The program has now expanded to not only include the Downtown but also the Westside Neighborhood, a targeted neighborhood for revitalization.”
