(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A Cincinnati man has been charged with Reckless Homicide following a fatal accident in Dearborn County.

Dearborn County Sheriff's deputies responded to the two-vehicle, head-on crash with entrapment in the area of U.S. 50 and Gatch Hill Road on June 27 around 12:17 a.m.

According to a probable cause affidavit, approximately three minutes prior to the crash, an all county radio broadcast from Dearborn County Communications advised there was a vehicle traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 50.

The vehicle that was determined to be driving the wrong way was a gray 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Jeb N. McGeorge, 21.

A day after the crash, sheriff's deputies went to UC Medical Center to speak to a male victim in the other vehicle. The man stated he was driving westbound on U.S. 50 when he observed headlights coming at him in his lane of travel. He tried to swerve to the right in attempt to avoid the collision but was unsuccessful. The man's passenger, his fiance, was killed in the crash.

McGeorge suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Highpoint Health in Lawrenceburg. It was there he consented to a blood draw. Results came back on July 29 and showed that McGeorge had Clonazepam, 7-Amino Clonazepam, Alprazolam, 11-Hydroxy Delta-9 THC, Delta-9 Carboxy THC and Delta-9 THC in his system at the time of the crash.

He allegedly admitted to taking medication that was not prescribed to him the morning of June 26 and further admitted to smoking marijuana approximately six to seven hours prior to the crash. He also allegedly told police that he was traveling the wrong way on U.S. 50 because his "GPS told him to take that route".

Through the course of the investigation, an Indiana State Police Trooper Accident Reconstructionist found that McGeorge was not only traveling the wrong way but was also traveling 70 MPH in a 60 MPH zone at the time of the crash.

McGeorge was charged on Monday with Operating a Vehicle Causing Death With Schedule I or II Controlled Substance (Level 4 Felony), Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death (Level 4 Felony), Reckless Homicide (Level 5 Felony), Operating a Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury With Schedule I or II Controlled Substance (Level 5 Felony), Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felony), Operating a Vehicle Intoxicated Endangerment (Class A Misdemeanor), Operating a Motor Vehicle With Schedule I or II Controlled Substance (Class C Misdemeanor).

He is currently held in Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center on $2 million bond.
