(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A Cincinnati man has been sentenced for his involvement in a fatal crash in Dearborn County.

Jeb McGeorge, 21, pled guilty on March 4 to Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Substance Causing Death and Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Substance Causing Catastrophic Injury.

The charges stemmed from a crash on June 27, 2020 that claimed the life of Alejandra Aguero-Vazquez and seriously injured her fiancé, Carlos Solis.

According to court documents, McGeorge was under the influence of THC, Clonazepam and Xanax and was traveling at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of U.S. 50 at the time of the crash.

After hearing testimony Judge Jonathan Cleary sentenced McGeorge to 18 years in prison. At sentencing the State pointed out the following aggravating factors:

  • McGeorge caused the death of one victim and catastrophic injury of another.
  • McGeorge was traveling back home to Ohio after having dealt marijuana to an individual in Dearborn County.
  • McGeorge did not have a prescription for the Clonazepam and Alprazolam and he purchased the drugs illegally.
  • McGeorge smoked marijuana prior to the crash.
  • McGeorge was traveling on the opposite side of a divided highway for enough time for multiple 911 calls to be made prior to the crash.
  • McGeorge immediately attempted to delete text messages where he was discussing his drug deals and drug use.

“While I am happy that justice was rendered, nothing will bring Alejandra back to her family,” said Prosecutor Lynn Deddens. “There is a community, a family and fiancé who miss her immensely.”
