Cincinnati CBP Foils The Delivery Of 50 Pounds of Cocaine

The total worth of cocaine in the packages was $638,000.

(Cincinnati, Oh.) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Cincinnati seized two large shipments of cocaine from the Dominican Republic this past week.

A narcotics detector dog alerted Cincinnati CBP officers of a shipment containing "shower curtains" and "posters" at a local express consignment facility.

When officers opened and inspected the packages, it was determined that there was cocaine embedded in the packages heading to Worcester, Massachusetts, and London, England.

The weight of both shipments was approximately 50 pounds, totaling a street value of $638,000.

“Smugglers are constantly trying to bring in dangerous and illegal narcotics, but our officers use their extensive training and expertise to recognize and identify unusual concealments in order to protect the American public,” said Cincinnati Port Director Richard Gillespie.
