(Aurora, Ind.) - A dump truck has ripped down power lines, closing U.S. 50 in Aurora Tuesday morning.

The scene is on U.S. 50 between Marsh Road and Lower Dillsboro Road, in the area of the former Aurora Casket plant. Dearborn County Dispatch reports that the dump truck somehow contacted the overhead power lines across the highway just before 8:00 a.m.

The dump truck pulled on the lines, bringing them down across the highway. Electric lines were separated from two nearby homes. A utility pole was also damaged. Nobody was injured, dispatchers said.

U.S. 50 is closed in both directions. Dispatchers said it may be a few hours until the highway can reopen.

Police are redirecting U.S. 50 traffic onto Lower Dillsboro Road.
