Batesville Recount Shaves Difference To One

(Batesville, Ind.) - A recount did not change the outcome of the race for Batesville City Judge, but it made the difference half as large.

To begin with, the difference was only two votes.

The recount was held Friday at the Ripley County Courthouse Annex between Democrat John Kellerman and Republican Kristen Weiler.

Weiler had petitioned for the recount after the November 8 Election Day totals had her behind Kellerman by just two votes, 956 to 954.

After Friday’s eight hour long recount, Kellerman still won, but by just one vote, 957 to 956.

Weiler has 30 days to appeal the results of the recount.
